(18 jun. 1868, Kenderes, Hungría, Austria-Hungría–9 feb. 1957, Estoril, Portugal).
Oficial naval y regente húngaro (
1920–44). Sirvió con distinción como comandante naval en la primera guerra mundial y fue ascendido a almirante en 1918. En 1919 dirigió un ejército en contra del régimen comunista de Béla Kun. En 1920 el Parlamento húngaro votó para restablecer la monarquía y lo eligió como regente de Hungría, pero este frustró los intentos de Carlos IV de recuperar su trono. Aunque apoyó a Alemania en la segunda guerra mundial, se esforzó por retirar a Hungría de la guerra, lo cual provocó su abdicación forzada y su secuestro por los alemanes en 1944. Liberado en 1945, se retiró a Portugal.
